1. You Can Add Contact Information Directly To Your Account.
Before Instagram rolled out business profiles, the only way people outside Instagram could engage with you was to click on your website link in your profile. Hopefully there was a link somewhere in your website where someone could contact you. Direct messaging was the only way to get in touch.
It's no surprise that casting directors find actors on Instagram inappropriate.
Instead, the casting director wants to email you.
A business profile allows you to put contact information directly on your Instagram so that the casting director or creative doesn't have to look any further than your Instagram account.
Once you provide the contact information for your business account, a Contact button will appear in your profile. Instagram users just have to click that button and then choose whether they want to email you, send you a message or even find your location.
2. You Have Greater Access To Critical Analyses.
Instagram was one of the last major social networks to offer analytics tools, and they are still relatively few, but you'd be surprised how convenient these tools can be for you as an actor. Business accounts provide a quick and easy way to see how your Instagram content is working, or not working for you.
You can get an overall view of your Instagram posts by going to your profile and clicking on Insights data listed at the top of your account. When you go to the Insights section, you'll see a breakdown of impressions, reach and follower information for the past week.
As a business account, you now have access to the analytics that pull your top posts of all time. You can click "More" to view those posts with top impressions based on how many times people actually viewed your content. And if you want to see the analysis for a specific post, you just click on the post, and you click "view insight". You can see how many impressions are out of reach and how much engagement that post has gotten.
Through your analysis, you can find out firsthand what kind of content is serving you. If you're seeing more engagement on a particular type of post, take a deeper look at why that might be.
3. Now You Can Create Instagram Ads.
Having an Instagram business account allows you to create ads from within the app as well.
If you want to promote a post, just click on it and then select Promote.
In my experience, the time from ad creation to full promotion can range from a few hours to a day or more. But it just depends on how beneficial it is for you to promote a particular post.
The reason why Instagram ads can be so beneficial for actors is because you can use them with a call to action. Call-to-action is a marketing term for any tool that is designed to prompt an immediate response or to encourage immediate sales. It's literally a sentence or a button that seals the deal. And as creatives, we can use call to action in many ways. Our call-to-action may be to like or follow the photos or videos you post. It may direct someone else to your website. It can direct people to contact you via email. With a call-to-action, you're doing two things: telling someone what they should be doing, and inspiring them to do so.
4. You Can Set A Category / Industry For Your Account.
Depending on the type of artist you are, you can select the category that best suits you and that will appear just below your name. Choose between actor, artist, dancer, entrepreneur, fashion model, musician or band, whichever suits you best.
But having that little category under your name is obvious, and tells us in one word who you really are.
5. You Can Share The link In Instagram Stories.
Instagram now gives us the ability to add links to Instagram stories, which is great for actors, because we're now able to find creative ways to drive traffic to our websites and our reels and that sort of thing via Instagram Stories . Remember, this rule has limitations. If you've heard before, you basically need 10,000 followers or more and a business account to add links to your Instagram stories.
Previously, this feature was only available for verified Instagram accounts, but now all you need is 10,000 followers.
6. You Can Use All These Features To Increase Your Overall Engagement.
Switching to an Instagram business profile is going to unlock more features for you to use to grow your overall Instagram engagement. Instagram continues to roll out new features every few months that give people new ways to connect with their audience With new features. Not only will you increase your reach, but it will also keep you a step ahead of the trends of the competition.
