What NOT to wear at your photo session!
Everyone is always telling you what you should be wearing at a photoshoot. I’m here to tell you what NOT to wear!
There are a few rules you need to follow when choosing an outfit so you look amazing! (Even though you probably already look amazing anyway and get the right look in your photos you’re after.
** Don’t worry, I’ll also be sharing tips & examples of what to wear too! **
DON’T WEAR
* The white t-shirt & jeans combo – that ‘style’ is over. At least it is in my world. Its boring and won’t show you off at your best!
* Items that are all the same colour/too matchy-matchy. You don’t want to blend in to yourself!
* Loud, clashing colours & patterns. This can be overwhelming and will take away from the photos. Avoid overly logo-studded items too
* Uncomfortable clothes because they are, well…..uncomfortable! Don’t wear something you won’t feel great in as your discomfort will show in your photographs
* Clothes that are too baggy, ill-fitting or very low cut. Choose items that are flattering and fit properly. You’ll look better & you won’t be continuously adjusting your outfit
* Sweatpants/sweatsuits or thongs (leave those Havaiana’s at home!)
DO WEAR
* Colours that complement one another rather than match entirely. Soft neutrals like fawn brown, baby blue, blush pink & cream are a good colour palette to begin working with.
pink + blue are just meant to go together!
* Cohesive & flattering patterned clothing. A pleasing pattern with neutrals can look quite effective. Just make sure that only 1-2 people wear a pattern as too much can detract from them in the photos
while this is a bolder pattern, its pleasing and the couple have used other neutrals to counter
* Appropriate accessories (hats, scarves, necklaces, etc). These can really lift a simple outfit and give it a bit of extra pizzazz.

* Keep the seasons in mind when choosing outfits. If you know its going to be cold dress appropriately – there’s nothing worse than trying to have fun whilst freezing your toes off! Similarly don’t wear clothes that you will be too warm in

layer your outfit on a colder day
* Fancy items (sparkles, suit, pretty dress, heels) because you don’t get to dress up often so why not take this opportunity!
